We Scooped the Prestigious Technology Award

At Dean Group International we are proud to continue to lead the way in an industry that is traditionally thought to be very fixed in its ways and have just landed the Technology Award at the prestigious Salford Business Awards. The award, as the name suggests, is for demonstrating significant technological advantages and was won in the face of stiff opposition from companies such as Ener-G, Direct Linen and Nulife Glass.

Following the initial application, Dean Group made a presentation to the Salford Business Awards panel which included representatives from Salford Council and Salford University. The focus of the presentation was to demonstrate the key areas that add real value to our core business of manufacture of investment castings at our Manchester foundry combined with a highly successful managed sourcing of higher volume investment castings, die castings, forgings, MIM and many other forms of similar work from supply partners abroad.

The award was received by Managing Director Christopher Dean and Commercial Director Carol Dean at the awards ceremony held at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. Christopher Dean commented:

“The success and strength of the company lies in the technical expertise and scientific approach to what many believe are processes steeped in the “black art”. Computer aided design, bespoke casting simulation software and stress analysis are just a few of the primary controls implemented to ensure component parts are produced to a consistent and exceptionally high quality”.

The latest technology is used for rapid prototyping of parts while robotics and in-house designed mechanical handling systems ensure that large complex parts can be safely produced without compromise to operator safety or quality of components. In-house material testing and stringent quality controls complete the full picture.

“We have a highly motivated, loyal team of people with many years of experience in the casting industry and without them this award would not have been possible," – added Christopher Dean.
