Subcon 2016 has come and gone, but our memories of this incredible event still remain. After all, nothing can quite compare with the couple of days we had, surrounded by passionate people who feel the same about the manufacturing industry as we do. This is the beauty of Subcon. Buyers can connect with suppliers, partnerships can form, new contacts can be made – it’s no wonder, then, that this show is so popular.
Representing a wide range of sectors, from materials to automotive and rail, Subcon is truly a stunning success, especially when it comes to bringing people together and helping businesses connect. It’s not unusual to find that new business relationships begin at Subcon, as this is a platform dedicated to subcontracting and outsourced engineering services.
What Subcon Can Do For You
As the UK’s premier manufacturing supply chain show, Subcon is a one-of-a-kind event that joins world class exhibitors and companies in a wide range of sectors and industries, covering the whole spectrum of manufacturing. Many countries were representing their sectors this year, from the UK to Portugal and Czech Republic, all of which are dedicated to advancing engineering in their sectors.
With such a broad range of companies, you can expect a gathering of unique knowledge and experience unlike any other event. Subcon is the perfect occasion to meet new people, create contacts and get a feel for the industry as a whole.
For companies like Dean Group, having the chance to talk to so many people working in so many different sectors is an amazing opportunity. We believe that learning new things is imperative for the growth of a business, as expanding our knowledge base can help us with current and future projects.
This Year’s Subcon
There were new features at Subcon 2016, such as the creation of specific zones, such as the Castings zone, which we were a part of. The large number of vendors and suppliers meant that new business contacts were made, one of the most important features of an event like this.
People also had the opportunity to see new developments in the industry, which is useful at so many levels – after all, not only can you develop your own business by learning more about what’s out there right now, but you can also create innovative technologies and techniques that will make you an expert in your field.
Keeping up with market changes is, therefore, essential for everyone, so the insight that all of us exhibitors – as well as visitors – gained during Subcon 2016 is priceless.
Our Time at Subcon
This year’s event took place from 7-9 June and saw an outstanding number of visitors, exhibitors and speakers. This wealth of combined knowledge made for a rich experience that we wouldn’t trade for anything else, and especially not after all the great moments we had. We talked to many people and businesses, and had the opportunity to discuss the current state of the sector as well as the advantages of our new ELITE process. We left Subcon with the belief that the whole event couldn’t have gone better.

As we wandered in search of the café for a little break, we were lucky enough to stumble upon European Springs in a stall nearby. It’s always interesting to meet people who share our dedication and passion for the industry, so we were very excited about this encounter. After all, European Springs are leading experts in the manufacturing of springs, wire forms and high speed press technology, and they also deal with many different sectors and industries, just like us here at Dean Group.
This meant we were very happy indeed to share our thoughts not only on the outstanding event we found ourselves in, but also on our experiences in the manufacturing business.
Our moments with European Springs showed us just how vital it is for a business to survive, thrive and grow through meeting people on the same wavelength as them – without these connections it would be impossible for us to be what we are today, so we’re firm believers of Subcon’s values.
We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly at Subcon and it only cemented our love for what we do. We take great pride in providing high quality, reliable components for your needs, so don’t hesitate to contact us or call us on 0161 775 1633 if you have a project you want to discuss with us, and follow us on Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn to stay on top of our news from the industry.
